MPP Power Text2Insure Text Messaging Travel Insurance Service
Text2Insure, part of the Hastings Insurance Services
Group, has selected MPP to power its mobile SMS text messaging travel
insurance service. With one in seven overseas trips being taken without
adequate insurance. SMS and the Mobile Internet (WAP) are being used to
make purchasing travel insurance even more convenient whether the purchase
is well in advance of a trip or at the last minute.
The traveller is prompted to text the word "Insure" to the mobile shortcode
61066 from in-situ and press advertising and immediately receives a reply
message, which provides simple instructions to obtain a quote. The instructions
prompt the consumer to provide travel details including their age, number
of days they are travelling for, where they are going (Europe/worldwide)
and whether it is a family or individual policy they are looking for.
A real-time quotation is then returned along with instructions on how
to purchase the policy using MPP's secure mCommerce platform. All this
can be done whilst waiting to check-in.
Once the transaction is successfully completed the traveller will receive
an immediate policy overview, both via the Mobile Internet session, SMS
and email. They will also be provided with contact details and instructions,
which can be stored on their mobile phone, should it be required whilst
they are away.
Using MPP's established Mobile Commerce Platform, the traveller is able
to make secure, real-time credit card payments from their mobile phone
with all related quotation and consumer information being securely transferred
to Text2Insure's servers, from where the policy is set up for the traveller.
Text2Insure launched the service in June with a high-profile press and
marketing campaign planned across the summer.
