Chrysalis Radio and MPP Link to Offer Music Downloads to Mobile

In the first commercial radio activity of its kind, Chrysalis Radio announced the successful launch of a Motorola sponsored full-song-download promotion using MPP's Music Download service.

The promotion launched across the Galaxy Network over the May bank holiday weekend as the culmination of 3 weeks' voting by Galaxy listeners for their 'Top Galaxy Anthems'. MPP Global has been contracted to develop a mobile ticketing system for public transport by Ticket Mobility, an initiative partly funded by the European Commission and spearheaded in the UK by NEXUS (Tyne & Wear Passenger Transport Executive based in Newcastle).

The mTicket system offers a major step forward and is designed to reduce the costs involved with issuing and verifying traditional tickets. It gives users instant access to real-time, location-specific information and ticketing facilities. Users simply text a keyword in order to buy a ticket and by recognising the mobile phone number the system will automatically purchase the ticket and send an mTicket by SMS.

Payment is made using credit and debit cards, which are stored using MPP eWallet technology. If users are buying a ticket for the first time, a WAP page is automatically loaded onto their mobile phone and, like a mini-web page, enables users to securely add credit card information in order to activate their eWallet. The mTicket, delivered by SMS, cannot be forwarded by users and is easily verified by ticket inspectors on trains, trams and buses. Timetable, route and fare information is delivered to their email account for future use using MPP's txt2mail technology.

FourFourTwo Pioneer the Sale of Magazines via Mobile

FourFourTwo magazine has enlisted MPP to enable the sale of future editions of the magazine via SMS. Readers of the December 2006 issue will be offered the chance to reserve/purchase a copy of the next edition by sending a simple text. Automatic payment is made via the user's mobile phone account and the reader is prompted to enter their delivery address via a link to a FourFourTwo branded WAP site. The service also provides the opportunity for readers to subscribe to 6 or 12 further issues of the magazine by entering credit or debit card information into the WAP screen.
