Internet Payment Security - Fraud Detection and Prevention

Internet payment security is incredibly important for all eCommerce services. MPP have taken various measures to ensure that all payments that are taken through its online services are as secure as possible - thus minimising fraudulent or erroneous transactions. Working in conjunction with MPP's Management Console, advanced fraud detection tools increase internet payment security thus reducing the risk of fraudulent transactions and charge backs. By providing configurable parameters, you have control of internet payment security and transaction levels. For example, you can decide the maximum value of purchases conducted in one day or the individual number of transactions. Indeed, you can even measure the velocity of transaction carried out within a set period. Reporting tools provide visibility of buying patterns and alerts are sent by email when certain parameters are exceeded. Further, you have the option of suspending your customer's accounts with the iShop auto-suspicion mechanism.

Address validation is also conducted on the credit card owner such that suspect addresses are written to log and prevents entry of PO Box addresses.

Further Security

• 3D Secure – this is a new technical standard developed by Visa and MasterCard to further secure CNP (Card Not Present) transactions over the Internet and requires each user to maintain a secure password (much like a PIN for Cardholder Present transactions) to confirm that they are the card owner.
• The 3rd Man – Europe’s leading specialist CNP fraud screening company. They provide a real-time interface for transactions that assesses the risk of fraud for each individual payment.
