Streaming Video Solutions
As broadband speeds increase, so does the ease at which digital video can be delivered directly to the consumer. With years of experience in delivering digital content via the web, MPP are ideally placed to provide a complete video delivery solution. This includes everything from a simple ad-funded microsite for the promotion of a single film, through to an end-to-end subscription-based IPTV channel streaming multiple, scheduled channels throughout the day.

Content Ingestion and Encoding
If the content is not currently in a digital format such as Flash, MPG, AVI, etc. (for example, if it is held in digibeta format), then MPP can take the content and encode it so that it is ready for distribution via the web. Furthermore, we can create a ‘flawless’ digital version that will future-proof the content allowing for very cheap and straightforward conversion to future formats.
MPP can provide access to a powerful Content Delivery Network (CDN) that will allow the upload of the digital content ready for delivery. This content can then be transcoded directly into the required format and quality for delivery to the consumer.
Delivery Methods
- Streaming on demand - This method of delivery involves the delivery of a single video file on demand. In other words, a single piece of content being delivered directly into the customers browser starting on request – much like YouTube.
- Live Streaming - MPP can accept live data streams either by IP or Satellite. This video can then be delivered directly to the consumer within a browser. Consumers can enter and start viewing ‘mid-stream’.
- Streamed Channel - MPP can create a true IPTV channel that includes full programme scheduling on a daily/weekly/monthly rotation. Consumers can enter the stream at any point and pick up the current video stream.
- Video Downloads - The alternative to offering your content within a web browser is to offer the full digital file to download. This is often of concern to content owners because of copyright issues. However, MPP can apply Data Rights Management (DRM) restrictions to the content so that it can be locked to a single machine. Furthermore, we can apply a time-lock which means that the file will only be available for a given period of time. This shows the distinction between offering the content as Download To Own (DTO) and as Download To Rent (DTR).
Monetising the Content
There are three ways in which you can monetise your digital content:
- Pay Per View – MPP can arrange to take a single cost to allow a consumer to view or download a single piece of content. We can also use our micropayments technology to allow the consumer to purchase a certain amount of online credit to spend over time on various pay-per-view videos.
- Subscription – MPP’s leading billing platform can also allow your consumers to sign up to a daily/weekly/monthly subscription for which we automatically take the payment at the end of each period. We then check whether the customer has a valid subscription before allowing them access to the content.
- Ad-Funded – the final option to monetise the content is to use an ad-funded model. MPP can interact directly with your ad-server to integrate banner and skyscraper fixed ads within the page. We can also create live playlists meaning that we can easily integrate pre-, mid- and post-roll video adverts.
