The Blue Planet Aquarium, part of Deep-Sea Leisure PLC, has launched its 2008 press and billboard advertising campaign using latest mobile marketing technology ‘txt2’ developed and operated by MPP Global.

Using text messaging, today’s most prolific communication medium txt2 provides the aquarium with a 24/7 SMS response channel on advertising, marketing and promotional collateral. The fully automated process enables potential visitors to interact with advertisements and request further information whilst sitting on a bus, train or in their local Starbucks! It only takes a few seconds and consumers do not have to wait in a queue, speak to an operator and or be kept on hold.

Txt2 also provides Blue Planet Aquarium with a database of potential visitors enabling them to carry out proactive, targeted marketing by phone, email or text messaging.

In addition to the txt2 service, the Aquarium will be utilising further products from MPP Global’s txt2 range. This will include the use of the ‘txt2win’ service which enables SMS as entry to a competition. Prizes can be anything from merchandise and tickets to family days-out.

The aquarium will also be setting up a fully-integrated WAP site, which will be similar to the current online portal. Using MPP Global’s ‘txt2wap’ service customers will be able to send a text message to receive the WAP link (WAP site address) and access the WAP site in a matter of seconds through their mobile phone.

Janet Uttley, Marketing Manager at Blue Planet Aquarium, said: “We are very excited to utilise this innovative marketing solution which will help us build an even larger customer base. MPP Globalhave been professional and fully understood our requirements from the beginning.”

Paul Johnson, Business Development Director at MPP Global, said: “Enabling visitors to request information and interact with the Blue Planet Aquarium anytime, anywhere, 24/7 is a powerful and cost effective proposition. Consumers always have their mobile phone to hand and within a few seconds will be able to access the additional information that is not included on most adverts.”

The service works by customers responding to the Blue Planet Aquarium advert by texting FROGS to 82540. The customer will then receive an immediate text response and further interacts with the Deep-Sea Leisure brand. All consumer data and tracking is logged and accessible by Blue Planet Aquarium to send complimentary information to the consumer in the future. To try the service and see txt2 in action for your self simply text FROGS followed to 82540.
