Her Majesty’s Consul-General to New York hosted a select number of leading business executives to formally launch the New York operation of MPP Global last night. Guests were invited to the Consul-General’s residence overlooking the UN Plaza to mark the occasion.

MPP Global, the leading provider of payment services and eCommercesolutions to the media and entertainment industries marked the opening of their New York operations to an attendance of leading media executives from right across the whole of North America.

With clients ranging from Philips, News International, BSkyB and Universal Music Group, MPP Global is well positioned to leverage the depth of their experience of providing the most advanced eCommerce solutions to successfully enable American Media companies to monetise their digital offerings right around the world.

Paul Johnson, CEO of MPP Global, said: “We are overwhelmed with the fantastic turnout from so many major players from the media sector to help us to officially launch our New York operations. In such sensational surroundings it is not surprising that we are very excited to bring our award-winning media-centric eCommerce solutions direct to the market in North America.”

Nick Astbury, Her Majesty’s Deputy Consul-General to New York, said: “Globally, the UK is the third-largest exporter of commercial services and in the top ten largest exporters of goods. Companies like MPP Global are the cornerstone of British trading success, and I am delighted to support their ambitious plans in New York and the wider United States.”

Attending the event were over 100 Media sector luminaries from such companies as MTV, Conde Nast, HBO, News Corp, NBC Universal and CBS which took place at the Consul-General’s penthouse in New York City.

Paul added “The subject of monetising digital content in the 21st century is an overwhelming requirement. Whether it is newspapers using paywalls to monetise digital editions, connected-TV services offering centralised content entitlement or one-click payments across mobiles, tablets and any other device. Media companies all need to ensure they are focussed on delivering revenues in the future. MPP Global is perfectly positioned to help North American companies to meet those considerations.”
