MPP Global has welcomed Ciaran Quinn, an international media and technology executive with a strong background in digital media, sports and OTT, as a new Non-Executive Board Member to advise on MPP Global’s business growth strategy.

With extensive global experience dating back 25 years, Quinn has worked on groundbreaking digital projects that have drastically improved the ways people access media.

Ciaran Quinn

From 2008 – 2018, Quinn was with Deltatre, the global sports technology organization, most notably as Chief Commercial Officer, working with rights owners and rights holders and enhancing the brands of leagues, federations, teams, TV networks and content providers. He was a key figure in bringing digital media services to Olympic Games’ rights holders, having worked with every Olympic Games since the IOC’s first foray into “digital” Olympics for Athens 2004.

Beyond that, Quinn has founded companies and helped to buy and sell companies. He has been a board member of public and private firms and more recently an external advisor for technology companies. He now operates his own boutique advisory company, VEO2, which advises C-Level executives on matters including business strategy, commercial growth and taking technology into new markets.

Quinn first became aware of MPP Global in 2014 and later facilitated a partnership with them to launch subscriber management services with Deltatre customers, including Tennis TV, the official OTT service for the ATP Tour. Quinn would go on to formally recommend and provide a reference to equity investors prior to MPP Global’s series B funding round in 2017.

In 2019, with MPP Global searching for high-caliber candidates to join its board, a chance phone call between Quinn and Paul Johnson, MPP Global’s CEO and Co-Founder, started the journey which led to Quinn’s appointment.

Johnson said:

“Ciaran’s career is showreel of success stories developing businesses and devising killer strategies. His unbridled business acumen is exactly what we were looking for as we continue to grow our business, and we are absolutely delighted he has chosen to join our team.”

Quinn explains:

“My passion and expertise lies in helping great companies succeed in new markets internationally, of which a big part is advising great people who want to succeed at what they do. Bearing this in mind, MPP Global is a perfect example of the type of company and people I like to work with.

“MPP Global has been expanding for a few years now, especially following the investment in 2017, which has provided a springboard from which they’ve launched a number of projects with clients internationally, and substantially grown the internal team. In my own career, I’ve gone through similar processes of growth within companies – including my own – and along the way, have seen and made mistakes which I hope I can help MPP Global to avoid, and highlight opportunities for further growth for the business.

“The development of strong, enduring and trusting relationships – both externally and internally – is central to my approach, and I’m enjoying introducing MPP Global to likeminded organizations. These connections have already highlighted complementary opportunities for MPP Global and several organizations based in the Middle East and North America.

“Being able to bring together potential partners I know in the industry is great, but it’s not just a one-way street. I think it’s highly valuable for MPP Global – or any company – to have an external party who cares about the company to be able to come in and say, ‘this is how things look from the outside,’ and offer a constructively critical perspective.

“I’m excited to be part of this journey with MPP Global and play a role in the business’s continued growth.”
