TV fanatics need never miss their favourite soap opera, that vital soccer match or the latest movie premiere thanks to a new service just launched on the Radio Times website www.radiotimes.com.

In conjunction with web-to-mobile payment solutions provider, MPP Global, the Radio Times website now offers a mobile phone text reminder service that lets viewers know when their favourite programmes are about to be broadcast. Subscribers to the service can request reminders to be sent 24 hours, one hour or fifteen minutes before transmission.

The service is easy to use and available across all 350 TV and radio channels on the website. Users simply text a programme code found alongside the programme title in the listings to 82540, they can then choose to receive a text reminder to their mobile at their preferred time ensuring they do not miss that all-important programme.

No registration process is involved, so the process is convenient for the consumer and users can send in as many requests for individual programme reminders as they like. The cost of each text will be 25p.

MPP Global’s  technology will send out the text reminders direct to customers of the service, who will in turn pay via their mobile phone bill.

Duncan Swain, New Media Editor for Radio Times said: “This is a fantastic addition to the range of exciting features available on our website. We know our 300,000 regular users eagerly plan their viewing and this will become an invaluable way for them to make sure they never miss their favourite programmes.”

MPP Global’s Joint Managing Director, Paul Johnson said: “This is a great example of how mobile technology has infiltrated our day-to-day lives and illustrates how companies can generate revenue.”
