Torstar Launches Paid Digital Subscriptions with MPP Global’s eSuite Platform
MPP Global today announced the launch of digital subscriptions for one of Canada’s largest publishers: Torstar Corporation.
Torstar is home to over 90 regional news titles across the country, including The Toronto Star, one of Canada’s highest-circulation daily newspapers.
Earlier this year, the publisher selected MPP Global’s eSuite platform to power their new paid digital subscriptions proposition. With eSuite implemented on the newspaper’s flagship website (thestar.com) in September 2018, The Toronto Star now offers both registrations and subscriptions through ‘Star Digital Access’.
A further three regional websites owned by Torstar have been implemented with user registration walls, and an additional 24 will be implemented by the end of the year. To identify, acquire and retain new digital audiences, Torstar is using the complete collection of modules available within eSuite.
The breadth of functionality in the platform enables Torstar to offer a complete solution without the need for multiple third-party components, streamlining the entire subscription management process.
Paul Johnson, CEO and Co-Founder, MPP Global, commented:
“We’re proud that another major North American publisher has chosen to use eSuite to power their digital subscriptions.
“Torstar approached us following a recommendation from a fellow North American publisher, where we had already proven eSuite as the platform of choice for large, enterprise-level publishers. eSuite is perfect for publishers launching paid subscription models across multiple titles, centralising reader identities and offering seamless user experiences.”
