First Choice, British Holiday Company of the year 2004 (TTG British Travel Awards) have started the New Year with a bang by launching their 2005 holiday promotion in a nationwide TV and press-advertising campaign using the latest marketing technology ‘txt2mail’ developed and operated by MPP Global.

Using text messaging, today’s most prolific communication medium, Txt2mail provides First Choice with a 24/7 SMS response channel on advertising, marketing and promotional collateral. The fully automated process enables consumers to interact with the company and request further information whilst sitting on a bus, train or in their local Starbucks! It only takes a few seconds and consumers do not have to wait in a queue, speak to an operator and there is no fear of ‘being sold to’ from a sales representative.

Txt2mail also provides First Choice with a database of consumers who are interested in their products and services, enabling them to carry out proactive, targeted marketing by phone, email or text messaging.

The service works by consumers responding to the First Choice advert by texting HOLIDAY plus their email address to 82450. The consumer will then receive an immediate text response and a rich html email (including links and/or brochure/video/audio). The consumer further interacts with the First Choice brand when the user accesses their email, which reinforces the brand with the consumer.

All consumer data and tracking is logged and accessible by First Choice to send complimentary information to the consumer in the future. First Choice staff can also view open rates and actions taken by the consumer when the email is read.
