Philips Announces MPP Global As Payment Provider for 2nd Generation Smart TV

MPP Global’s award winning payment solution, eSuite, has been announced by Philips at the IFA Consumer Electronics show in Berlin as demonstrating the required level of functionality, integration points and security to power Smart TV Payments, the monetisation module of Philips Smart TVs.

The Philips Smart TV combines TV broadcasting, video-on-demand, internet browsing and access to a library of apps and social media. eDeveloper, a module of the eSuite and MPP Global’s API toolkit of payment functions, will be shared with app developers and content providers enabling Philips to offer their customers secure and seamless access to paid-for content delivery, central storage and re-use of consumer payment details and promoting one-click transactions. Consumers will be able to purchase products, services or content from hundreds of content providers from their centralised payment account.
