Another Brick in the Paywall: MPP Global Talks Paid Content Strategies at World Publishing Expo

MPP Global Friday, 19 September 2014

MPP Global, the leading provider of CRM and eCommerce solutions to the world’s most powerful media and entertainment companies, is heading to the WAN-IFRA World Publishing Expo in Amsterdam this October to talk about latest developments in paywalls and how publishers can make the most of these.

World Publishing Expo, which takes place from October 13-15 in the Netherlands, is a unique conference bringing together global experts in media and publishing for a series of events inspired by ‘revenue’, ‘social-local-mobile’ and ‘workflow efficiency’.

MPP Global will be at the Revenue Media Port, where together with Unidad Editorial, it will be speaking about the latest developments in paywalls and how they affect the media and entertainment industries. As part of this, the two companies will present a case study on the paywall implemented for Unidad Editorial’s title el Mundo.

An increasing number of publishers are realising that the free content model in the digital space is not sustainable. Paywalls offer a chance to earn money from content, but the technology behind these is evolving rapidly and opening up new revenue potential for companies.

Paywalls offer a chance to reconsider what their customers want. At World Publishing Expo, MPP Global will be discussing questions that are vital to developing the right paywall strategy.

CEO of MPP Global, Paul Johnson says: “Do some customers want to simply view a few articles, while others want unlimited access? Do most of your consumers want today’s news only, while others want the ability to search the archives? Or do some of your customers want access only via an iPad, or home delivery, while other customers want to maintain context across all their devices? These are some of the key questions facing media and entertainment companies today we’ll be addressing them at World Publishing Expo.”

Once media companies can answer these questions they can use the power of paywalls to design bundles and pricing plans that meet the customers’ needs, strengthening relationships with them to ensure they keep coming back for more.

MPP Global will be at the WAN-IFRA World Publishing Expo from October 13-15. It will be speaking between 14:30 – 16:00 at Revenue Media Port in hall 10 on stand 6.
