eCommerce Predictions for 2011

As 2010 draws to a close, it’s time to get my crystal ball out to try and predict what the major eCommerce growth areas will be in 2011.

For me, a number of areas will see continued/new growth in 2011:

Cloud payment systems – a growing trend in the media industry in particular. 2011 will be an important year for cloud technology to establish itself.

Monetising digital content through convergent media – all companies need to tap into this growing market.

Connected-TV – helping turn viewers into consumers through internet-connected TV’s.

Smartphones and tablets – retailers will need to keep up with the pace of  mCommerce.

Pay-walls – I can see more newspapers putting digital content behind pay-walls. Will The Telegraph be the first in 2011?

It has been a great year for MPP Global and if all my predictions come true – 2011 is going to be even better.
