Ringing up Mobile eCommerce Services

While the icy start to this month was bad news for much of the UK – it seems to have been good news for eCommerce.

This month was already being tipped as one of the busiest eCommerce Decembers on record, but now it looks as though online sales and subscriptions in the run up to Christmas are going to exceed expectations.

While we are all used to ordering online on our laptops these days, it will be interesting to see how the mobile eCommerce service figures stack up at the end of the year.

In 2010, MPP Global has certainly seen a growth in interest in mobile eCommerce processing and payment platforms.

More and more companies are realising how MPP Global’s mobile Commerce services and iShop mobile can effectively transform the mobile phone into a pocket supermarket, open 24/7.

Blue Chip companies have also been introducing mobile apps in 2010 to make it even easier for consumers to shop via their mobile, which is a win-win situation.

But the real growth area in 2011 is surely the huge role mobiles can play in the monetisation of digital content?

New research has shown that young adults in particular are willing to pay to access content on the move.

This, coupled with integrated micropayment platforms, allows consumers to effectively run a mCommerce tab – helping ring up new business not just at Christmas, but 365 days a year.
